Miles Keogh Member of the Advisory Board
Miles Keogh is the Director of Grants & Research at the National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners, where he manages its grant-funded energy, environmental, and security programs. He supports a number of NARUC committees and serves as a liaison between State Commissions, the Department of Energy, Environmental Protection Agency, Department of Homeland Security, national labs, industry, and other key organizations. Miles has recently written on topics of key Public Utility Commissioner interest including decoupling, solar energy, coal technology, carbon capture and storage, transmission siting, energy efficiency policies, infrastructure protection, disaster response, and infrastructure finance. He provides training and facilitation services to Commissioners and Commission Staff on pressing issues in the regulated utility sector. Prior to joining NARUC, Miles facilitated a national collaborative dealing with wind energy, spent several years at a climate and energy policy think tank, and sited power plants for the Massachusetts Department of Telecommunications and Energy. He also spent five years as an ambulance driver and EMT in Washington DC. He serves on the US Electricity Delivery Working Group, the National Wind Coordinating Collaborative’s Steering Committee, the Intelligrid Advisory Group, and the Executive Committee of the National Council on Electricity Policy. He received a Bachelors in International Relations from Georgetown University and a Masters in Environmental Management from the University of Cape Town, South Africa.
