EIS Summit Media Coverage – Highlights

Media coverage for the EIS Summit was unprecedented for an event of this scale. 

Almost every major U.K. newspaper, radio station and prime time TV network covered the summit, along with a record array of internet news and commentary sites, including international media. 

Media coverage included live interviews, starting the day with the BBC’s prestigious Today show , which set the stage for an intense day of media coverage.  Interviews from the summit were the lead stories on both the 7:00 PM and 11:00 PM evening news in the UK, with extensive coverage in UK newspapers and on internet news services.

BBC Radio “Today Show” on solar flare risk and EIS Summit in London
On September 20, 2010, in the hour before the Electric Infrastructure Security Summit convened in Parliament in Westminster Hall, the number one rated morning radio show in London interviewed Avi Schnurr.  This three minute segment summarizes the global risk to national electric grids from severe solar flares predicted by NASA  and the National Academy of Sciences.
